Just a quick note to let you know that I am still shipping orders, and will continue to do so as long as it remains safe to do so, and while postal services still operate here in Melbourne, Australia.

Some of our scheduled releases for this year will be delayed/postponed, but other digital releases will probably happen quicker. There are also some new digital-only release projects in the works, perfect for social distancing times.

I also want to let everyone know that Shame File Music/mailorder is pretty self-sustaining, and I don’t rely on it’s income to survive (many thanks to those who have inquired).

I have also initiated some things on both broad and personal levels to actively support artists Shame File works with. Our community will be our strength through the coming months and beyond.

Welcome to the new Shame File Music website! I’ve spent the last month or so transferring the nearly 300 products over to this new platform, which will make searching and browsing stock a lot easier.

The other main advantage to this new site is the automatic postage calculator, which gives much more accurate shipping quotes on your total order, rather than the hard-coded postage estimates that were attached to individual items on the old website.

I have also spent a fair bit of time cross-referencing releases and artists, so the website can continue to serve as a source of archival knowledge on Australian experimental music in particular. Browsing categories will hopefully open up new vistas to the output of key artists.

I am still in the process of transferring over some of the archival research pages to the new platform, so bear with me whilst I do this. I still intend for this site to be an information resource as well as a (easier to use) web store.

During this transition, I’d appreciate it if you let me know of any errors you come across on the site so I can fix ’em (email me cdgsham AT gmail DOT com).
