Description
A departure from Dave Brown’s (Candlesnuffer, Bucketrider, Lazy, countless others) more familiar guitar noise wrangling, Plant Hunting in Japan is a collection of folk songs and ballads, interspersed with instrumental interludes, largely sung and played by Brown with some accompaniment from Clayden. These works were written for two operetta’s by Clayden; The Otherside and Aphanisis, performed at LaMama Theatre in Melbourne. Clayden’s libretto provides the basis for Brown’s songs, the studio recordings of which are presented here in a beautiful full colour sleeve and insert, featuring artwork by Brett Colquhoun.
