Description
The Village Pond was composed over 2020 to 2021 in Coffs Harbour, NSW, by Adam Erbringer on a Buchla 200e modular synthesizer. No external MIDI devices or DAW were used. All pieces were live-performed and recorded direct to stereo.
Untempered just intonation is used throughout, with up to 11-limit ratios. Each piece employs a different heptatonic scale.
A very small amount of compression and distortion has been used. The result is an album which does not sound loud, but rather retains dynamic impact, deep bass and clean highs that will reward a good set of speakers or headphones.
The album has been beautifully mastered and released on vinyl in a run of 150 pressings.
